"European Art's Glory: Shapes of Gods and Nature" Exhibition
This event has ended.
At Himeji City Museum of Art
Media: Painting, Prints, Sculpture
This exhibition is composed by two main sections: The "Myth, Bible and History" section and the "Nature" section. In "Myth, Bible and History," there will be paintings of mythological Greek and Roman gods and saints from the Old and the New Testaments. In addition, paintings of people interacting with these figures in a modern context will be on display. The pieces in the "Nature" section explore the process of how the genre "landscape painting" was coined by departing from narratives and the figure, which were crucial subjects in a painting.
