poster for Takahiro Kondo "Metamorphose"

This event has ended.

Takahiro Kondo was born into the Kondo family that has passed down the tradition of Sometsuke to the contemporary. His grandfather and father have depicted nature, and compared to them, Kondo shows his experimental side by not limiting his materials or techniques. For example, he creates abstract shapes, uses gold, silver and platinum as crystals in the Ginteki (silver droplets) technique much like the world in "Serenity in White". In 2002, he studied abroad at Edinburgh College of Art in Scotland and obtained techniques in using glass and ceramics.
Kondo's works are not only displayed in Japan, but have extended to Sao Paolo in 1990 and beyond finding its place in prominent art collections. The fact that his works are acquired on an international level is proof that Kondo's works go beyond expressing what is accepted in Japan.
This exhibition features his new work called mist series which combines ceramics, Ginteki technique and glass. In addition, his two dimensional works, installation works and oil series are exhibited as well.
