This event has ended.

These days, we hardly turn off the electricity except for when we are camping. However, fire has always intrigued human beings. For instance, we feel a sense of comfort when looking at the orange flame in the dark. In the past, lighting by gas or candles were essential items for the night. Masterpieces currently exhibited at museums are not an exception; they were produced under the candle light by its artists. With advanced lighting systems, the works of art may be easier to see, but it is possible that we are looking at them in a condition that is unintended. This exhibition allows visitors to experience seeing artwork in a candle-lit space, although the works exhibited were created in an electric lighting environment. With the flame that responds to the smallest movements in space, a new perception of the artworks' power and beauty will be revealed.
