In 2008, the Tale of Genji will celebrate its 1000th anniversary since it was written. This exhibition features works related to the tale from Ishiyama-dera, as well as kakejiku (hanging scrolls), suzuribako (ink stone box) and karuta (Japanese card game) that depict the story and are created by contemporary artists.
