The Jizo Project is a project dedicated to investigating the Jizo statues scattered throughout the Ougino Sato-Higashi community in Shiga, through fieldwork and research. The area is located right in between Biwa Lake and Hiei Mountains, where new development and old neighborhoods stand next to each other. For the fieldwork, an area of 4 km x 3 km was selected, and the exhibition will present three dimensional maps and digital film that document the life and culture that takes place in the neighborhood.
