"Art Brut; Faces! the Outsider Art" Exhibition
Galerie Miyawaki
This event has ended.
A long time ago, "outsider art" emerged from research and study of art produced by "primitive" societies and people with mental illnesses. It was introduced to the art world approximately sixty years ago in Paris, where dealers avidly promoted surrealist art. Outsider art gained much exposure in famous Parisian galleries and Dubuffet decided to call these works "Art Brut" (raw art).
At this exhibition, there are approximately 60 works on display by famous European and American outsider artists.
