Tamba is a large producer of pots, jars and mortars since the late Heian period. Around the late Edo period, Tamba's sake bottles became famous and a huge demand grew in other cities like Kyoto and Osaka. This exhibition features Tamba's various types of sake bottles produced between the Nara and Edo periods.
