"100 Years of Kamishibai" Exhibition
Kyoto International Manga Museum
This event has ended.
Since the Edo period, Kamishibai (Japanese story-telling performance accompanied by illustrated prints) has developed different styles and an established history. Today, the Kamishibai is well-known both nationally and internationally for creating a two-way communication between the storytellers and audience.
This exhibition traces the historical path of the Kamishibai, with the cooperation of Gunma Prefectural Museum of Literature in Commemoration of Bunmei-Tsuchiya.
