The Tale of the Genji is a Japanese novel that depicts the joy and pain of love. In 1008, the novel was read in the royal court. This year, the museum celebrates its 20th year of existence along with the millennium of the masterpiece.
The exhibition features paintings that depict scenes from the narrative, and artworks that depict the lifestyle prevalent then.
