In 2006, three recipients of the Kyoto City Person of Cultural Merit award passed away: Shoichi Ida created prints, paintings, paper works, ceramics and bronze works; Kyube Kiyomizu, a successor of the Kiyomizu ceramic industry, became a contemporary sculptor and created public art using aluminum; Yonezo Shibata was a contemporary figurative painter. This exhibition features about 30 works by these three artists who were recognized as Kyoto City's Outstanding Cultural Contributers. In addition, other famous pieces from the museum collection will be on display including Auguste Rodin's "Adam".
