This year, the Sagawa Art Museum has acquired 13 new works from Ikuo Hirayama's "Scenes from Journeys in Asia (Daitou Saiiki Ga)" series, as part of the 50th anniversary of Sagawa Corporation.
Hirayama has spent a couple of decades along the Silk Road, as he traveled following the route of Chinese Buddhist, Xuanzang. The series was created as Hirayama sketched landscapes and memorable scenes during his trip.
