This event has ended.

Horyuji Temple was built by Emperor Suiko and Crown Prince Shotoku in 607. Its 1400-year history has not had a complete analysis, and still some obscurities are yet to be solved.
According to the "Nihon-shoki (the oldest chronicles of Japan)," Horyuji was burnt down in 670 and the current temple was rebuilt. With modern research, the original site of Horyuji is considered as where is now called Wakakusa-garan. If so, when and by whom was the current Horyuji Temple rebuilt by?
This exhibition features traces of preservation and repairs of Horyuji Temple, and new discoveries of this secret treasure.
