This event has ended.
At Kamigata Ukiyoe Museum - Museum of Osaka Prints
Media: Prints
During the Edo period when Ukiyoe was produced, people lived without gas or electricity. Much like the process of creating Ukiyoe, people went through life by advancing techniques to live a more efficient and comfortable life. The exhibition will explore the various techniques people invented. Hence, these small advancements were also be seen in fashion such as the tenugui (hand towel) and furoshiki (cloth used as a bag) that resonate with the recent trend towards being environmentally conscious.
