This event has ended.

Shikokai is the oldest avant-garde ceramic group in Kyoto which was organized by Sango Uno, Yasuo Hayashi, Yasunori Suzuki, and Uichi Shimizu in 1947. Its impetus was threatened by the Soudeisya group which Kazuo Yagi started in 1948, however, each member of Shikokai has played an important role in the international ceramic scene.
This exhibition features legendary work by Yasuo Hayashi and Yasunori Suzuki, focusing on how they were oriented to start the revolution and the avant-garde movement. Additionally there is a film by Kinnosuke Onishi who was the member of Shikokai and participated in Film Independent.
