This event has ended.

"Dotmov Festival 2007" has the aim of finding new talented creators and providing the opportunity for them to present their works. Applications were made from all over the world (297 works from 34 countries), and selected works will circuit Sapporo, Sendai, Tokyo and Osaka.

i went to this today...
i might have missed something because i don't speak japanese... but it's not a gallery per se. It's like a cafe, with art around the walls (see the link) so if you're just there to browse, it might be a little hard to stand over some people eating to get a close look at the work. The current artist is Kana Otsuki, and her stuff is really neat. (You can preview some of this at the digmeout diner website)

The digmeout cafe has a great atmosphere though, and is open 24 hours. You can often see creatives having some sort of meeting on the tables and there are many creative books to browse while you eat/drink. You can also buy the artwork on the walls.

The dotmov section of the exhibition was two large TV screens near the entrance with headphones. You could stand and watch the loop of animations. Looked cool, I didn't try the headphones though.
