This event has ended.

Naosuke Ii (1815-1860), the 13th leader of the Hikone Han, is well known for making the decision to end Japan's isolationist policy, but also as a tea ceremony master who engaged in many important ceremonies. Naosuke's manners were acquired during his years at the Umoreginoya as a young man. The exhibition will features items that Naosuke inherited from his masters as well as ceramic cups he created himself. The exhibition has also been curated and designed to attract children who are enjoying summer break, through simple wall texts, worksheets, and scheduled gallery talks.
