Masae Kariya finished her university studies in 2004. Last year, Kariya participated in Amuse Art Jam 2007, and received the grand prize among a large pool of applicants. The exhibition features the awarded piece, "SpaceOddity," along with a selection of Kariya's latest paintings and drawings.

最も惹かれたのは、雪原の上に３匹の狼が居る絵だったろうか。予想を裏切るミクストメディアや円形のキャンバス、一見無造作でもそれが何故か当てはまるような床に携えられた小作品達。風景の中にさりげなく主張する異界や異形、野生の匂い。決して乱雑ではない、だからこそ騒ぎ立つ感覚。最近知る数人の作家との共通項の集約にも思えた展示は、彼女の時代の反映と捉えるべきか、彼女が時代を形成している主格と見るべき、か。
