Miyozo Kado "Painting Japan's Field Landscapes"
This event has ended.
At Nara Prefectural Complex of Manyo Culture
Media: Painting, Drawing, Art Talk
Born in 1912 (Meiji 45) and 96 years old this year, Miyozo Kado even now continues to exhibit every autumn in the Nitten, making him truly the elder statesman of painting. He gained attention in his youth for his use of western-style painting expression in his landscapes. In 1931 he studied at the now-called Kyoto City University of Arts and, since his first selection for the pre-Nitten Teiten annual exhibition, his career has stretched over 77 years. This exhibition will introduce representative work from his student days up to his recent pieces, as well as the daily sketches he continues to draw without fail.
