Aya Wada "forest of fragments"

At Kodama Gallery
Media: Drawing

Wada creates drawings using fine point pens and ink pens. The subject matter ranges from landscapes, fogs and fire. For example, the 10cm by 10cm landscape drawings released in 2006 were installed like a mosaic on a column in the exhibition space.
This exhibition focuses on what Wada refers to as "an obsessive sensation that is experienced in an unconscious state," a state that seems self-explanatory when seeing the compulsive repetitions of overlapping lines.
