This event has ended.
At Gallery Haneusagi
Media: Painting
From a young age having an interest in the beliefs of the Japanese, touring on foot the temples and shrines, Kawauchi has worked daily creating Nihonga on the theme of the deer of Nara.
Further, combining with numerous sheets of gold leaf placed onto canvases made from deer skin, cut finely by bamboo rapiers, the artist has employed the solemn and traditional decorative crafts technique of "Kirigane".
