This event has ended.

This is a selections exhibition from the Kyoto International Manga Exhibition, an exhibition that has been gaining attention since its launch in 1991.
In Japan cartoons are not so familiar but globally it is a genre loved by many. In our current world of worsening environmental problems, ethnic cleansing and large-scale warfare, the satire and humor in cartoons has attracted notice.
This selection show draws from the 2006 seventh exhibition's works under the theme of the renunciation of war, works which made around 5000 visitors laugh and think. Further, this revival, a response to its popularity last year, will run in conjunction with the 2008 eighth Kyoto International Manga exhibition (June 1st - July 6th).
While the main works were previously exhibited, half are being shown for the first time.
