Akiko Fukushige “Here and There”

Artist Akiko Fukushige’s works are usually derived from her travels, including her experiences living with the indigenous Sami people in the Artic Circle. This time, though, her exhibition focuses on her home in Japan, specifically the correspondence between her family members. The title, “Anata Konata” or “Here and There” is a phrase that often cropped up in her grandfather’s letters, which he wrote in a local dialect.

This exhibition will appear at Art Osaka 2013 at Hotel Granvia on July 20-21.
