“Kato Masao’s Illustration Works” Exhibition
Museum “Eki” Kyoto
This event has ended.
Enter the dream world of Kato Masao. Inspired by the “Modern Girl,” an overwhelmingly popular movement during the Taisho Period, Kato depicts subjects such as beautiful women, fairies and flowers in delicate pastel colours. In addition to Kato’s picture postcards and illustrations from anthologies of Japanese nursery rhymes and poetry, this exhibition will introduce the works of other artists inspired by “Girly Design” from the Taisho and Showa periods.
