This event has ended.

Kunst Arzt presents the second solo show for Masahiro Fujita in two years. Through works that strip away the surface layers of society and the human body, Fujita reveals what is latent on the inner and reverse sides of them. In last year’s exhibition, he created a “hyper-real” version of the reverse side of his own face, using a model of it to form a sculpture that not only broke through the boundaries of 3-D perception, but also made viewers think about societal issues such as facial recognition. This exhibition takes the Rodin sculpture “The Thinker” as its point of departure. Using mass-produced models of the sculpture’s back, Fujita allows the shape of the original to lose its form, creating an entity that seems to have no beginning or end.
