This event has ended.

Chinese ceramics have been revered around the world for their high quality of craftmanship and beauty. In Japan, they hugely influenced the development of glazed wares, called Seto ware, and were highly admired by the cultured elite classes. This exhibition focuses on the spread of Chinese porcelain; the enthusiasm for the wares in East Asia in the medieval period; the development of blue and white, and wucai (five-color) wares, and kiln activity at the dawn of the Ming Dynasty; and the influence of Chinese ceramics in Japan in the Edo Period. Pieces on display will include those from Asian and European collections.
