Exhibition of yumigasuri, a type of kasuri (ikat) textile from the town of Yumigahama in Shimane Prefecture. Originally used in farmer’s clothing, Yumigasuri is characterized by a rough texture, with simple white patterns on a deep indigo background. This is the first time yumigasuri will be exhibited in Kobe. Goods on sale include kimono cloth, noren curtains and cushions among other items.
