This event has ended.

A rich collection of paintings and ukiyo-e prints from Edo period are gathered together to provide further insight into their historic importance not only in terms of Japanese art but also their influence on the development of European art. This exhibition includes superb examples of painting folding screens and fusama from the Tokyo Fuji Art Museum collection, as well as all 36 prints from Katsushika Hokusai’s “Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji”. The show also features key works from the iwasa school, tosa school, sumiyoshi school and Soga Shohaku, along with “One Hundred Famous Views of Edo” by Utagawa Hiroshige from the Nara Prefectural Museum of Art. This is a chance to reappraise the master works of Japanese art and the unique light they throw upon the landscapes and culture of Japan.
