The first comprehensive exhibition of works by Edo period painter, Choshun Miyagawa (1682-1752). Having trained under the early ukiyo-e master, Hishikawa Moronobu, Miyagawa is most famous for his bijinga depictions of beautiful women, famous places and contemporary tales, characterized by a wide spectrum of colour. He went on to the found of the Miyagawa school of ukiyo-e style painting — one of the few schools not to produce woodblock prints.
