Nihonga greats Kansetsu Hashimoto, Kagaku Murakami and Hako Irie are brought together with the unique approaches to oil painting from Kunitaro Suda, Goro Mantetsu,Seiji Chokai and Misei Kosugi in an overview of the developments in Japanese modern painting over the Meiji, Taisho and Showa eras.
