Exhibition of the works of Bolivian artist Fernando Montes (1930-2007), who dedicated his life to painting the landscapes and women of his Andean homeland. Montes held over 20 exhibitions in Japan, and his admiration of Japanese aesthetics shines through in his heavily abstracted works. His faceless figures that appear to integrate seamlessly into their surrounding landscapes convey what Montes believes to be a “sacred connection between the Indian and Mother Earth.”
