Artist Takao Okutani acknowledges that even as Japanese society has swapped ink and brushes for computers and modern stationery, these items and their accompanying accessories still have the owner’s individual personality stamped on them, just like decorative ink stones or water drops did in times past. Okutani creates small vessels with added personality and humour.
