Takako Hirano’s copperplate prints are created using simultaneous colour printing (or vicosity printing) pioneered by British printmaker William Hayter of Atelier Contrepoint, which became an alternative to printing using multiple plates for color separation. Hirano depicts an idyllic, fantasy world that seems to be a veiled critique of the one in which we live.
