The 3rd Sansan Kai Nihonga Exhibition: The Power of Ohamashi, The Power of Images
Daimaru Shinsaibashi Event Hall
This event has ended.
Exhibition of 40-member Nihonga painting group, Sansan Kai, showcasing new works on Oohamashi. Oohamashi is a special kind of Japanese paper made from mulberry bark from Kochi in Shikoku, which is highly durable and excellent for colour development. With the manufacturers and materials in decline, Oohamashi is becoming increasingly rare. This exhibition presents a chance to learn more about Japanese paper-making - an art form in itself.
