Satoshi Someya “Digesting Decoration”
Imura Art Gallery
This event has ended.
Imura art gallery Kyoto proudly presents “Digesting Decoration”, a solo exhibition for Satoshi Someya. Using Makie and Raden traditional dry-lacquer techniques, Someya emphasizes the curves of animal and human bodies, producing what can be called works of “decorative expression.” For this exhibition, he has created works from stone, dry leaves, pieces of concrete, rusted iron, chips of wood, and other everyday materials, reconstructing them into decorative forms and exploring the idea of an object’s “function,” in both in the sense of its utility and its pull on the human heart.
