Misuzu Hashiji creates evocative conceptual videos that draw parallels to the work of William Kentridge. Using the pieces of an eraser that come off as it is used, the artist plays with the idea of finding “life” in something that would otherwise be simply thrown away, and how an eraser can bring “light” to an image, rather than make something disappear.
