Abend brings together artists, art-goers, and all seeking a mutual understanding between the art world and larger society. Independently run by a group of several artists, this is the project’s second session in two years.
It is not uncommon to for people to make statements such as “I don’t understand art,” or “art has little to do with me,” or “artists are weird.” Artists, meanwhile sometimes feel that they are disconnected from society or have little idea of how to fully develop their work, suggesting that the art world is a closed off one. To address this issue, Abend Vol. 2 provides a platform of exchange for artists and audiences, encouraging artists to step outside their usual territories so that through dialogue, everyone can learn about art’s appeal and think about its role and possibilities in society.
