2013 is the year of the Shikinen Sengu, the reconstruction of Ise Shrine that occurs once every 20 years. This exhibition introduces artifacts found in excavations of Shingun, districts that provided services to a shrine under the ancient Ritsuryō system of law, with a focus on the Watarai-gun in former Ise Province, which served Ise Shrine.
