Exploring the physical impact of painting upon the viewer Shiho Nishizaki has developed a form of expression which seizes upon the spirit of color to be found in all living things, in what may be likened to a “cell of color”, often combining images of the female body, the moon and the sea. In this exhibition Nishizaki presents a large scale painting which covers the entire wall of the main exhibition space, with its shear size overwhelming the viewer and transforming them into a “cell of color”.
