This event has ended.

Large mounds believed to be tombs for royalty called kofun were built in the Nara Basin at the beginning of the Kofun Period, the middle of the third century. However from the latter half of the 4th century, they were begun to be built in the Mozu-Furuichi area, in present day Hirano, Osaka. This exhibition explores the reasons behind this shift, and the historical background of the period.
