Ei-Q “Works on Paper”
The Museum of Modern Art, Wakayama
This event has ended.
Exhibition of Japanese artist Ei-Q or Hideo Sugita (1911-1961) with a focus on his photography and prints. A western-style painter, Ei-Q was also known for his experimentation from the 1930’s with photograms in what he termed “photo-dessins” — a cross between photography and painting. Although he passed away aged 40, he remains a renowned figure in the post-war Japanese avant-garde movement.
