Ouki Nakane was key to the revival of the tradition of Satsuma Kiriko (cut glass) and its the foremost artisan today. Ouki was granted this name to commemorate 25 years since efforts by him and the Shimazu family began to restore the art form in Kagoshima. This exhibition will showcase a number of Satsuma Kiriko pieces, which are characterized by overlaid coloured glass and delicate cut patterns.
