During her 1 year stay in Denmark Miyabi Katayama encountered glass as a material for artistic expression and since has come to develop this into her painting practice. Its essential properties of transparency, color and texture seem to embody something Katayama has always been searching for. In Danish there is the word “hygge” which means to create a warm friendly atmosphere, sharing time with those close to you, and perhaps glass may contribute to just such an appreciation. Here Katayama features a collection of glass paintings, oil paintings and glass jewelry, along the themes of forests and sky, clouds, plants and trees.
The artist will be present in the gallery on 12th, 14th, 20th, 22nd and 23rd December
