Exhibition of the works of artist Suma Maruki, who was living 2.5km away from the site of the Hiroshima atomic bomb. Maruki, at the encouragement of her son and Nihonga painter Iri Maruki, continued to paint until her death in 1956, and is known for her spontaneous, carefree approach. Among her works on display include depictions of subtly colored flowers and living things, and the scenes she witnessed immediately after the bomb dropped on Hiroshima.
