This event has ended.

Since the ukiyo-e artists of the Edo period, illustrators active in fields as varied as manga, anime and games, and illustrations for novellas have been called “Eshi”. The style they have created is part of Japanese popular culture, and is drawing attention around the world.

Here the Kyoto International Manga Museum has gathered illustrations by 105 artists who have worked with the theme “Sights of Japan”, as part of the “Eshi 100 Part 3 - Contemporary Japanese Illustration in Kyoto”, a reworking of the same exhibition held in May 2012 in Akihabara, Tokyo.
