An exhibition to commemorate 25 years since the opening of the Museum of Kyoto with pieces from various Kyoto museums and important private collections. Featured are masterworks of painting and scrolls that take Kyoto as its theme; pieces by painter Mukai Junkichi, who specialized in depictions of Minka traditional houses; Kyo-yaki ceramic wares by the current head of the 240 year-old potting family, Kiyomizu Rokubei; folk toys and traditional musical instruments: all representing a time capsule of Kyoto’s artistic heritage and its development.
