Nowadays accessories are a means of adorning oneself and expressing one’s individuality, however in the Jomon and Yayoi periods such accessories were a mark of power and ability or were a means of protecting oneself from paranormal forces. This exhibition showcases a collection of accessories from the Jomon and Yayoi periods, including materials rarely shown to the public, revealing the culture contained within such adornments.
