Exhibition of video installations by Masayuki Kawai, who revels in the unpredictable art of video feedback, in other words, the process that occurs when a recording video camera is pointed at its playback monitor, to create psychedelic images and sounds. Kawai insists that the images and sounds generated are not meaningless or merely white noise, and this becomes apparent to the viewer as they allow themselves to be taken into the “vortex.” For Kawai himself, the works contain references to the history of rock music and modern art.
