This event has ended.

Exhibition of 40 works by renowned painter and printmaker Leonard Tsuguharu Foujita. The Japanese painter, who attained much success and fame in France and never returned to his native country, skilfully applied Japanese aesthetics and techniques to Western painting. During the 1950s, Foujita told his close friend Kiyoshi Tamenaga, the founder of Galerie Tamenaga who frequented his studio in Paris, “I am trying to achieve the three-dimensionality of Western painting traditions only through the use of delicate lines in Ukiyo-e (Japanese woodblock prints). Drawing is the real nature of my art.”
