The avant-garde calligrapher Kohichi Ushimaru, who has pursued his art through several decades of researching stone inscriptions and collecting impressions, presents new works at his first exhibition in Kyoto in 40 years. Ushimaru received the Hyogo Prefectural Cultural Award last year.
