This event has ended.

This exhibition examines the role of herbal medicine in Japanese society and draws a thread from the work of the Morino Yoshino-Kuzu Honpo, building on the legacy of Edo herbal medicine, to the latest developments in medicine, science and farming which will lead into the 22nd century. Reflecting on the history of medicine this exhibition ties this to the preservation of the natural environment and the safe production of natural remedies while also showcasing for the first time the historic Tosuke Morino herbal encyclopedia and the rare documents of the botanist Makino Tomitarou.
